The PetroChina bidding season arrived right on the heels of the Sinopec long‑distance pipeline project. On June 11, 2018, at exactly 10:00 AM, the annual PetroChina framework bidding meeting opened on schedule at the China Petroleum Materials and Equipment Corporation bidding hall in Beijing. We are proud to announce that Xinyida achieved an outstanding result and was successfully shortlisted as a Class A (top‑tier) supplier.

This year’s framework bidding was different from previous years in that the contract validity period has been extended to "two" years. This means that failing to win the bid would effectively lock us out of PetroChina’s welded steel pipe procurement business for the next two years. This made us even more meticulous and rigorous when preparing our bidding documents—every detail mattered, and no oversight could be tolerated. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the heads of the relevant departments who helped review the final bid documents, as well as to the leadership of Sales Department No. 3 and Comrade Lü Yan for their strong support. Without their cooperation and hard work, we could not have achieved such a desirable result. This also demonstrates the strength of our company’s team spirit—united we stand, united we succeed.

A total of 24 petroleum, petrochemical, and industrial enterprises participated in this bidding, including Huayou Steel Pipe, Baoji Steel Pipe, Shandong Shengli Steel Pipe, Shashi, Tongyu, Jinzhou, Yulong, CBHC, Baosteel West, Baosteel Shun, Panyu Pearl River, and Liaoning Large, among others. The competition was exceptionally fierce. The bid evaluation committee conducted a rigorous review of each bidder’s scale, equipment capabilities, sales performance, product quality, service model, technical solutions, and pricing structure. The scrutiny was far stricter than in previous years, precisely because of the two‑year validity period. According to the bidding documents, the award ratio was set at 6:2:2, dividing suppliers into Class A, Class B, and Class C. In this round, even some well‑known suppliers and state‑owned enterprises failed to make the cut. Clearly, it wasn’t a lack of capability on their part, but rather—most likely—some minor oversight that proved fatal. It just goes to show that the devil is in the details.

This also serves as a wake‑up call for us: simple tasks must be approached with complexity, and every sentence and every word must be read carefully and studied thoroughly. Every year, the PetroChina and Sinopec framework tenders are like the national college entrance examination—you must read the paper carefully, understand the questions, and answer with full concentration. Even though we have been tested many times before, we still approach each one with caution and reverence, leaving no room for the slightest error.
